Uphill task

WE salute Niall Southwell of Glasgow office development Atlantic Quay, who is undertaking a three-day, 541-kilometres charity cycle from Airdrie to John O’Groats.

Mr Southwell, whom we hope has a very comfortable saddle, is bidding to raise £1,000 for Finding Your Feet, the charity founded by quadruple amputee Corinne Hutton. His journey begins on June 3 when the plan is to cycle 167km from Airdrie to Ballachulish. Day two will see him travel 201km to Invershin, before he aims to cover the final 173km to John O’Groats. Excruciatingly, the entire journey, we are told, is uphill.

Ms Hutton said: “We’re so thrilled Niall has decided to take on a challenge for Finding Your Feet, and we wish him the best of luck.

“The money raised will go towards our clubs and initiatives that help families dealing with amputation or limb difference, including some cycling classes.

“The support from everyone at Atlantic Quay has been overwhelming, and we couldn’t ask for a better partnership.”
