megawatt generating capacity. It is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

Tsetsii is owned by the Clean Energy Asia venture formed by Mongolia’s Newcom Group and Softbank Energy of Japan.

Brian Macdonald, implementation team leader at Wood Group’s clean energy arm, said: “We are delighted to be building on the relationship which was established with Newcom Group on the development of Mongolia’s very first landmark wind farm project in Salkhit.”

He added: “With winter temperatures dropping to -40°C and summer temperatures rising to 45°C it is safe to say Mongolia’s climate as well as the wind farm’s remote location presented a number of challenges that we are pleased to have worked through.”

Wood helped with feasibility and pre-construction planning for Tsetsii. ANALYST Mike van Dulken often brightens the business desk with his notes on key developments affecting the markets.

And so it proved in the build-up to this week’s announcement of the deal brokered between the Conservative Party and Northern Ireland’s DUP, led by Arlene Foster, which has allowed Prime Minister Theresa May to form a government at Westminster.

“Come on Eileen,” declared Mr van Dulken in the title of one of his research notes this week. The memories of student discos came flooding back. THE Bottom Line’s occasional award for most puns in a press release goes to PR firm Beattie for its missive on Bring Your Dog to Work Day.

Declaring it was a “pawsome” day for participants, the agency said its staff had brought their canine companions in to em-bark on some work. And, just when you thought the pun count could not get any higher, it noted the Bichon Frise owned by senior account manager Sarah Ballantyne “proved to have an outstanding pedigree”.

On a more serious note, the occasion raised money for charities dedicated to improving dog welfare.

We’ll woof to that.
