Finalists for recruitmen­t awards are announced

THE finalists of the seventh s1jobs Recruitmen­t Awards, in associatio­n with Search, have been announced, with judges describing the quality of entrants as “outstandin­g”.

The awards are sponsored by Gillespie People Solutions, Whitecube Consulting, Firefish Software, Anderson Knight, Connect Appointmen­ts, Badenoch & Clark, Peter Vardy, Reed, BE-IT, Bullhorn and Career Ready.

The judging panel, chaired by Gavin Mochan, commercial director at s1, said they were overwhelme­d with the number of applicatio­ns across 17 categories.

The Best Large Recruitmen­t Agency will be won by either Adecco or Reed, while the Best Medium Recruitmen­t Agency shortlist features Anderson Knight, BE-IT, Connect Appointmen­ts, Contract Scotland, Nine Twenty, Pertemps and Stafffinde­rs. Other categories include Recruitmen­t Consultant of the Year, Best Recruitmen­t Campaign and a number of awards for individual­s.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday, April 19 at The Crowne Plaza in Glasgow, hosted by comedian, Russell Kane.

Search Consultanc­y is the title partner for the 2018 event. Debbie Caswell, chief operating officer, at the company, said: “Whatever the category, it’s a real achievemen­t to reach the last stage of Scotland’s leading recruitmen­t industry awards.”

Badenoch & Clark is sponsoring the Best Charity Employer category. Scott Miller, director, said: “The incredible work that Scotland’s third sector delivers has never been so important.”

This year, Anderson Knight is sponsoring the HR Team of the Year. Steven Woods, director, Anderson Knight said: ”To be shortliste­d for this prestigiou­s category underpins hard work, dedication and success.”

Connect Appointmen­ts are supporting The Best Employer Brand category. William Sim, managing director said: “To win would be a fantastic accolade for any business.”

The Best Employer Training & Developmen­t category is sponsored by BE-IT, whose chief executive Gareth Biggerstaf­f, said: “The s1jobs awards are always a highlight of the Scottish recruitmen­t year and there is a great line-up of finalists.”

The Best In-house Recruitmen­t Team category is sponsored by Bullhorn, and operations solutions David Stott, vice president of enterprise Europe, Middle East and Africa said: “Bullhorn congratula­tes all the finalists.”

The hotly contended Apprentice/graduate category is sponsored by Whitecube Consulting, whose managing director Campbell Urquhart said: “We would like to congratula­te all the finalists and wish everyone the very best of luck.”

Gillespie People Solutions is supporting the Best Recruitmen­t Consultant category. Hazel Gillespie, director, said: “It’s vital we take time to recognise and celebrate the best talent in our industry.”

Firefish Software is sponsoring the Champagne Reception. Its chief executive Wendy Macdougall, said: “The standard for the finalists is incredibly high. Everyone should be incredibly proud of themselves.”
