More Carillion jobs are axed
MORE jobs have been lost following the collapse of engineering giant Carillion, taking the total to more than 1,800.
The Official Receiver has announced 97 Carillion employees have been given redundancy notices because no ongoing employment could be found.
A total of 1,802 jobs have been lost since Carillion went into liquidation in January.
Almost 10,000 jobs have been saved, and 5,400 workers have been retained to deliver Carillion’s services to public and private sector customers until decisions are taken to transfer or end these contracts.
Talks with potential purchasers continue.
