Stewart car set to fetch £500k
A RARE racing car driven by Sir Jackie Stewart at the beginning of his career is expected to fetch up to £500,000 at auction.
The 1962 Tojeiro Ee-ford Endurance Racing Coupe was one of only two made for Scotland’s legendary Ecurie Ecosse team.
The metallic blue coupe competed in a series of races with drivers including “Flying Scot” Sir Jackie Stewart and the late John Coundley.
Now fully restored to racing condition, the rearengined car will go under the hammer at Bonhams’ Goodwood Revival sale on September 8.
Tim Schofield, director of Bonhams’ Motor Car department in the UK, said: “This is a car driven by Jackie Stewart and others in the golden age of motor sport.”
