Sony admits to releasing three fake Jackson songs

- CHARLIE THOMSON

MUSIC giant Sony has admitted releasing three fake Michael Jackson songs after he died.

The tracks, titled Breaking News, Monster and Keep Your Head Up, featured on the posthumous album Michael released in 2010.

They were said to have been recorded by the King Of Pop prior to his death the year before.

But four years later, a fan questioned the validity of the songs and claimed the music was fraudulent. Sony Music Entertainment has now admitted that Jackson “may not have been the singer”, but insist they should still be able to sell them under his name.

Sony’s lawyers appeared at the Court of Appeal in Los Angeles to ask for the case to be thrown out, but the judge said they had effectively admitted “ripping people off”.

The documents said the companies bought the songs from two men who “claimed that Jackson recorded these songs in the basement of their house in 2007, without any witnesses”.
