People’s Vote gains support
A CROSS-PARTY group of Scottish politicians has claimed a People’s Vote on Brexit is fast becoming the most likely way out of the logjam at Westminster.
Labour MSP Kezia Dugdale, Libdem MP Christine Jardine, Green MSP Andy Wightman and SNP MP Tommy Sheppard said it would soon be the “only option left standing”.
One proposal is a choice between Theresa May’s deal and staying in the EU.
If the Brexit talks go down to the wire, a “Put it to the People March” in favour of another referendum will be held in London on March 23.
At a press conference in Edinburgh, Mr Wightman claimed at least two Tory MSPS also privately backed a People’s Vote.
