Star’s girl had ‘90% chance’ of surviving

-

THE daughter of Holby City actor John Michie would have had a “90 per cent” chance of surviving her horrifying drug overdose at a music festival if her rapper boyfriend had got medical help, a court has heard.

Louella Fletcher-michie, 24, became the first person in the world to die of an overdose having taken 2C-P.

The yoga teacher and dancer had left the grounds of music festival Bestival with her boyfriend Ceon Broughton, 29, who is alleged to have supplied her the synthetic party drug and “bumped up” her dose.

Prosecutors say the grime star failed to seek help, despite it being heard a medical tent was just 400 yards away, because he was serving a suspended sentence and was protecting himself.

A professor who is a medical expert in resuscitating casualties before they can be taken to hospital told jurors he was “very confident” Ms Fletcher-michie would have survived if she had received help while she was “still breathing”.

Professor Charles Deakin, who advises the Army on treating battlefield casualties, also said it was likely she had died by the time Broughton recorded her on his phone just before midnight on September 10, 2017, at Lulworth Castle, Dorset.

Giving evidence at Winchester Crown Court, Prof Deakin said Taggart star Mr Michie’s daughter had suffered a “gradual demise” after taking the drug.

Broughton, of Enfield, London, denies manslaughter and supplying class A drugs.

The trial continues next week.
