MSPS address drug-driving

-

A Zero-tolerance limit for drug-driving is to be considered by MSPS along with and roadside testing.

It would set limits on eight drugs most associated with illegal use to rule out any claim of accidental exposure.

Medical-use drugs would also have limits based on impairment and risk to road safety.

Community safety minister Ash Denham will give evidence to

Holyrood’s Justice Committee this morning and, if approved, new limits will come into force on October 21.

She said: “We will continue to use all of the tools at our disposal to prevent the avoidable deaths and damage caused by those who drive under the influence of drugs”.
