INDEPENDENT

Scottish film and TV producers have been given a welcome financial boost.

Screen Scotland is offering support of between £3,000 to £50,000 to develop projects over the next three-to-six months.

It is part of a £1m pot – split between TV and film projects.

The £500,000 Film: Single Project Development Funding Route will support the development of single feature film projects across live-action, animation and documentary.

The Tv-focused Broadcast: Single Project Development Funding Route has a wide-ranging scope – covering scripted, unscripted and animation ideas for traditional broadcasters and SVODS (Subscription Video on Demand).

It will prioritise multipart projects with existing interest from commissioners and which have the potential to return.

Producer fees can comprise 25% of the project’s costs.

Screen Scotland executive director, Isabel Davis, said: “We are entirely focussed right now on how we can help safeguard and sustain the Scottish film and TV sector, and to ensure that it is able to bounce back as soon as the situation allows.
