Thug tried to wrestle baby away

A THUG tried to wrestle a baby from a woman – having already attacked her daughter.

Paul Kenna, 26, turned on Catherine Calder, who was holding a child’s car seat in which a fivemonth-old girl was sitting.

Ms Calder had come to the aid of her daughter Elizabeth after she had been assaulted for 20 minutes by Kenna at a flat in Glasgow’s Barlanark on September 15, 2019.

Prosecutor Laura Bradley said: “He took hold of the car seat with the girl inside and attempted to pull it from Catherine’s grasp. During the altercation, he was also punching and slapping Elizabeth.”

Kenna then attacked Joseph Mcdonald with a car key when he became concerned about the child’s safety.

Kenna, of Wellhouse in the city, pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Elizabeth and Mr Mcdonald.
