Teacher died of natural causes

-

A TEACHER who was found face down wrapped in his duvet died from natural causes, an inquest was told.

Ramsay Urquhart’s father Murdo questioned what happened to his son in the run-up to his death in an east London flat, in April 2019, and suspected he could have been attacked.

The 33-year-old diabetic, who grew up in Inverness and met his wife in China where he taught English, had only been in London for two weeks looking for work.

After his family expressed concern for his welfare, police broke into his Mr Urquhart’s flat and found him face down, wrapped in a duvet and wearing trousers and a T-shirt.

He had been dead for a matter of days and bodily fluids had pooled in his body, leading to a degree of decomposition.

Rather than being bruised, his body was showing signs of discolouration caused by a process known as hypostasis, the inquest in Sunderland was told.

The coroner heard it was likely he had suffered a diabetic attack, or he could have had Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

Mr Urquhart had previously experienced hypoglycaemic episodes which put him in hospital.
