The Herald

Saturday’s edition of The Herald

- Donald Martin Editor

FOLLOWING the late and non-delivery of copies of Saturday’s Herald to some newsagents and outlets, we have taken steps to provide missing copies to our loyal print subscribers.

In addition we will ensure that key magazine content, such as Fidelma Cook’s column, will be repeated this week along with the new articles.

The events on the morning of April 10 were a result of unforeseen circumstances and an unfortunate chain of events: the print deadline was extended slightly to bring the latest reporting from the US Masters golf tournament and part way through the print run we suffered a significant drive failure on our presses which further delayed the completion of the full production quota.

To compound matters, the last delivery vehicle broke down near the M74 after leaving our Cambuslang print plant en route to the newspaper distribution handling centre in Linwood.

For subscribers unable to attain a copy on Saturday we have created a free open access e-edition of Saturday’s edition to view.

Emails and letters have been issued to subscribers with details on how to access it.

The URL for The Herald is: https://bit.ly/3g1pe1l and for the supplements (Herald Magazine, Sport & Prince Philip commemorative pull-out): https://bit.ly/3uj0wf4

We had a very limited supply of back copies and have posted out free print copies where we had availability.

I can assure you we share your frustration and disappointment.

All of us had worked tirelessly to produce an excellent newspaper, paying special tribute to Prince Philip, as well as a great magazine and superb news and sport coverage.

We have reviewed our protocols and procedures to minimise any future disruption.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

It is much appreciated.
