Sir Alex: My regrets over family

-

SIR Alex Ferguson has revealed he regrets not spending more time with his children due to his obsession with football.

The former Aberdeen and Manchester United manager admitted his wife Cathy raised their three sons, Mark, Darren and Jason, largely on her own.

In a new documentary, “Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In”, his family describe him as a “workaholic” who was never at home.

Sir Alex, 79, said he was not proud of missing out on his kids growing up but said the family had been rewarded for his success.

He said: “Cathy brought the kids up and I’m not proud of that but that was the nature of my job.”
