MOTD Live: UEFA Euro 2020 BBC1, 4pm

Gabby Logan presents all the action from the Group A encounter between Turkey and Wales at the Olympic Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan (kickoff 5pm). These two countries have never met in the finals of a major tournament before, and their most recent match took place way back in 1997. A memorable World Cup qualifier in Istanbul finished 6-4 to the home side, with Hakan Sukur bagging four of Turkey’s goals. Before that game, there is Finland v Russia at Saint Petersburg Stadium (kick– off 2pm). Then, the final match of the day is Italy v Switzerlan­d at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome (kick–off 8pm).

Inside Tesco: 24/7 Channel 5, 7pm

With business booming at the UK’S supermarke­ts, particular­ly as we try to shop in fewer locations due to the pandemic, it can be easy to forget that most of the mighty national chains had very humble beginnings. This three-part documentar­y, starting tonight, celebrates 101 years of Tesco by telling the story of Britain’s biggest retailer. Businessma­n Jack Cohen first started running market stalls in the East End of London in 1919, which led him to set up the brand as his enterprise kept growing: now there are 3,627 branches. More than just a history series, camera crews also head behind the scenes at some of Tesco’s superstore­s to show what working life is like for the staff today.

Before We Die Channel 4, 9pm

The fast–paced crime drama continues as Davor informs Bianca that Stefan has headed off to Croatia, but she quickly works out what has really happened to him and makes Christian an intriguing offer. However, he is traumatise­d by what he has done and hopelessly tangled up in the undercover police investigat­ion. He takes a gamble and chooses instead to take a journey with Davor that will reveal everything he needs to know about Operation Krajina. Lesley Sharp, Vincent Regan and Patrick Gibson head the cast.

In the Footsteps of Killers Channel 4, 10pm

What do you get if you blend truecrime documentar­ies with drama? The result is this fascinatin­g hybrid in which Silent Witness star Emilia Fox and top criminolog­ist Professor David Wilson try to solve cold cases by putting themselves in the killer’s shoes. Here they investigat­e the disappeara­nce of young estate agent Suzy Lamplugh, who vanished from a London street in July 1986.
