Date set for NYC Tartan Day
ORGANISERS of America’s biggest celebration of Scottish culture expect next year’s event to be bigger and better than ever.
The 24th annual New York City Tartan Day Parade will go ahead for the first time in three years on April 9.
The previous two events were cancelled due to the Covid pandemic, although organisers staged virtual celebrations involving hundreds of participants around the world.
The NYC Tartan Day Parade is the largest annual celebration of Scotland, when more than 50,000 spectators line the route up Sixth Avenue in Manhattan.
Kyle Dawson, president of the National Tartan Day New York Committee, said: “We’ll be back in person in 2022.”
