Lambing Life – Our Lives BBC1, 7.30pm

Fourth-generation sheep farmer Chloe Hallam juggles the busiest weeks of the farming calendar with the reopening of her alternative therapy business after Covid restrictions are eased. Delivering lambs one minute and giving relaxing massages to humans the next is going to be tricky, as Chloe and her father David welcome and care for more than 1,000 new arrivals, day and night. She is determined to keep the family tradition alive for future generations to come, and hopes running a beauty business will help to keep the farm afloat.

Coastal Devon & Cornwall with Michael Portillo Channel 5, 8pm

The presenter begins this week’s journey at Widemouth Bay, which has ancient links to the Celtic nations of Wales and Brittany. Battling an Atlantic storm, Michael shelters in an ancient woodland and spends the night at the vicarage where Thomas Hardy stayed in 1870. Michael’s adventure ends at the ancient seat of Tintagel, with Cornish-language singer Gwenno. Braving 70mph gusts, she explains how her outlook on life, and the identities of the Cornish people, have been shaped by their Celtic heritage.

Grand Designs Channel 4, 9pm

You can’t help but admire young, wealthy, ambitious and fearless Joe, who sets out to build “one of the greatest homes on the planet” for his wife Claire and their children in South Devon. Their complicated and expensive house will be a giant sculpture, inspired by the local landscape, featuring 34 enormous, angled zinc shards jutting out in all directions. However, high winds prompt major structural engineering changes, and the £835,000 budget virtually doubles before the first walls go up. A team of local builders struggle to build a vast, intricate wooden frame, but the premade timbers don’t fit together. As delays mount, what should have been a masterpiece is in danger of becoming a white elephant.

Which of the stars will be able to handle the pressure and progress further in the culinary competition?
