Gareth Southgate’s men travel to Budapest’s Puskas Arena, where they aim to continue their perfect start to the campaign and qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar by beating Hungary. It’s the Lions’ first outing since the bitter disappoint­ment of their penalty shootout defeat to Italy in the Euro 2020 final. Mark Pougatch presents the action, studio analysis comes from Emma Hayes, Roy Keane and Ian Wright, and Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon commentate, while Gabriel Clarke grabs the pitch-side interviews.

There are few laughs in the first investigat­ion of this edition as comedian Joe and his star guest Lorraine Kelly take on dodgy puppy dealers, before the mood lightens as he goes on a special mission in Wales to make British wool cool again – naturally with a little help from his celebrity friends. Meanwhile, Rosie Jones lifts the lid on the faux fur being sold by online retailers, while Mark Silcox throws his waistline to the wind, and pits the Whopper and the Big Mac against each other in his test laboratory.

Ambulance BBC1, 9pm

Cameras shadow members of the North West Ambulance Service, as the night shift deals with reports of a man walking on the railway tracks. Advanced Paramedic Ian is sent to investigat­e, and when he arrives it’s clear the patient has been clipped by a train – but it’s his mental health that’s the most pressing concern. Meanwhile, paramedic Linda and specialist mental health nurse

Emma help a patient struggling with depression and bipolar, as well as a man for whom lockdown isolation is exacerbati­ng his paranoia. Across the city, Chris and Rob treat someone who has fallen on the ice, before being called to help a man they’ve visited before who has been outside in minus temperatur­es for the entire night.

Sixteen: Class of 2021 Channel 4, 9pm

Christmas looms, there are only six months left of school and the students are anxious about the impact of lockdown on their ambitions. Sade is awarded

“Learner of the Week”, which is good news following a tough few months, while Callum is distracted and falling behind on his revision, but his mentor offers some words of encouragem­ent. Kara realises that she must apply herself if she wants to get into college and achieve her dream of becoming a tattoo artist, before the Government drops the first of several bombshells.
