DANA GETS GREEN LIGHT FOR £1BN DEVEL­OP­MENT

Dec 19 KOREAN-owned Dana Pe­tro­leum has been given the green light for a $1.6 bil­lion (£1bn) plan to de­velop two big oil and gas fields in the North Sea, un­der­lin­ing the ap­peal of the area to in­vestors. News that it had won of­fi­cial clear­ance for the West­ern Isles devel­op­ment came on the day En­ergy gi­ant SSE agreed to pay $288 mil­lion to ac­quire from BP a stake in a gas field in the North Sea.
