Dry has one more shot at Beijing place
MARK Dry will have one more crack at sealing his spot at the world championships in Loughborough today – two months after smashing the Scottish record at the same venue.
The UK silver medallist needs to throw the qualifying standard of 74 metres one more time to automatically book his place in Beijing.
“I really want to go,” he said. “I know I can throw even longer and if I do that, then they’ll have to pick me.”
Perthshire prospect Ben Greenwood’s medal hopes at the World Youth Championships in Cali were dashed when he came eighth in the 800m semi-final.
