Tartan Army ticket boost for potential party in the Algarve

-

SCOTLAND fans will be handed a bumper allocation of almost 10,000 for what could be a Euro 2016 qualifying celebration in the Algarve.

Gordon Strachan’s side are in a good position to reach their first major finals in 18 years.

The Scots end their campaign with what should be a mere formality away to Gibraltar in October in Faro. And the SFA will receive an allocation from the Gibraltar FA of 9,800 briefs for the match, with Ireland getting the same for their match there in September.

Although the Estadio Algarve holds 30,000, not all of the stadium is open because of the costs involved in hiring security for the Gibraltar FA.

But with Scotland certain to bring the largest away support for a Gibraltar match, it seems certain Strachan’s side will make the stadium feel like a home game for the visitors.
