Victoria Pendleton finished sixth aboard According To Sarah on her latest point-to-point ride at Larkhill.
The Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist was back in the saddle 24 hours after what trainer Alan Hill described as a “good day at the office” when steering Supreme Danehill to a clear round in the novice riders’ race at Horseheath point-topoint in Cambridgeshire on Saturday.
Hill’s wife, Lawney, has been one of Pendleton’s chief mentors during her Betfair-backed ‘Switching Saddles’ challenge since it was announced last March that she would make the transition from velodrome to racecourse, with the intention of riding at the Cheltenham Festival.
She tweeted: “Thank you @ LarkhillRacing for a good day @v-pendleton & According to Sarah finished 6/15 novice riders @Betfair.”
Pendleton now faces a crucial second ride aboard Pacha Du Polder at Wincanton on Wednesday.
