THE expected order has been restored in League One with Alloa Athletic and Livingston moving back to the top of the table.

Only alphabetic­al order separates the teams who have identical scoring records.

Livingston handed Brechin City their first league defeat – 2-1 at Almondvale – and Danny Mullen, who contribute­d the first goal, believes his team are going from strength to strength.

“We played very well and dug in right to the end – it was a good victory,” he said.

“We’re scoring goals as well, which is a bonus, so it’s all great at the moment. We were really confident after the result at Alloa. We took all the positives from that into this game and we showed that form again. We’re just concentrat­ing on ourselves and it’s a great feeling to be top of the league.

“I’m looking to score as many goals as I can this season, but the first thing is to get into double figures as quickly as possible.”

Scott Pittman’s goal proved decisive with Alan Trouten pulling back a goal for Brechin.

Alloa Athletic, meanwhile, had to come from behind to beat Queen’s Park 2-1 with late goals from Greig Spence – a penalty – and Iain Flannigan.

Airdrieoni­ans had to rely on an Iain Russell penalty to gain a 1-1 draw with East Fife and Stenhousem­uir came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Peterhead. A double from Craig Thomson earned
