What is it?

A thermal imaging camera and LED flashlight designed to give a new perspective of the world around you. We are more familiar with thermal vision from Hollywood movies such as Predator and The Terminator but these infrared sensors can provide useful real-world applications. Home insulation is almost solely dependent on these devices to track heating leaks and cold spots.

The technology is equally interesting when used to view nature either in the wild or domestically as most of us have at one point wondered was the causing that strange noise coming from the back yard and were reluctant to investigate. The Seek Thermal Reveal exposes this hidden part of the world and allows you to document your experiences just like a regular camera.

Good points?

The camera is well constructed with a sleek futuristic design reminiscent of the hand phaser in Star Trek. The point and shoot operation is similar to your TV remote rather than a standard camera. This allows you to capture footage even in the awkward nooks and crannies. Also, the screen crosshairs will display the temperature of any object you are looking at which is great for barbecue enthusiasts.

Bad points?

Infrared in general has flaws and it can be tricky to identify what you’re looking at. If you have two objects of the same size and temperature they will be indistinguishable.
