WINNERS OR LOSERS?

THUMBS UP

DAVID BECKHAM’S son Brooklyn surprised his dad by flying in from New York to be at his 43rd birthday – a 19-year-old who can pay for a first-class ticket across the Atlantic. And his little sister Harper’s gift to her father? A £4,500 Louis Vuitton wine case. Whatever happened to the days when six-year-old’s made their dad a card out of a sheet of A4 and coloured it in?

CHERYL TWEEDIE is showing remarkable composure in dealing with her immature toyboy partner Liam Payne. The former boybander referred to her as “Old Chezza” recently in an interview and has followed this up with a live radio chat telling the world she was on the toilet. But she won’t let the relationship go down the pan. Will she?

THUMBS DOWN

HUGH GRANT is slumming it these days. But the toff actor says he found “lowering myself to television again after 30-odd years surprisingly painless”. That’s really lovely to hear. But perhaps if the Four Weddings star had spent less time trying to crush Press freedom and more time convincing film producers he can act, he wouldn’t have to make such a sacrifice.

DANIEL CRAIG is rumoured to be on the verge of returning to the role of James Bond, after saying he would “rather slash his wrists than return” as 007. And it’s only taken a $25 million carrot to see him bite. A bargain.
