DO-UPPER OF THE WEEK
TIGH a Chro is a traditional former croft house in need of complete renovation and upgrading at Drumfearn, a rural crofting township in the Sleat peninsula, six miles from Broadford on the Isle of Skye and just 10 miles from the Skye Bridge. Planning permission in principle was granted in 2009 for a new dwelling on the 0.35 acre site, with the original house to be used as ancillary accommodation. Whilst this has now lapsed, it is likely that interested parties would be able to redevelop the site subject to the necessary planning consents being obtained.
The site has panoramic views over the surrounding croft land and from the upper part of the garden, views north towards the Cuillins and Loch Eishort. Internally, the existing two-storey accommodation comprises entrance porch, hallway, two rooms, bathroom and an open-plan attic space upstairs.
For sale at £95,000, the building is presently uninhabitable but does have mains water and electricity and drainage to a septic tank. Details from the Skye Property Centre.
