THE KEEPER OF LOST THINGS

Ruth Hogan

John Murray Press, £8.99

What is the book about?

This novel contains a multitude of stories that are all tied together by the life and commitment of one man, Anthony Peardew, a retired writer. Over his life he collected items left forgotten, writing fantastical stories about them. As his death draws near he has still not been able to return these items to the rightful owners and passes on this task to his friend and assistant Laura.

Who is it aimed at? Readers over 12.

What was your favourite part? How unique and comforting this concept was.

What was your least favourite? The writing style meant that it was occasionally slow-paced or difficult to understand.

Which character would you most like to meet?

I loved Laura’s navigation of the world of lost possessions.

Why should someone buy this book?

The several intertwining plots connect perfectly with lost items and lost people, and are primarily driven by the characters.
