SATURDAY

Live Heineken Champions Cup Rugby Union (Channel 4, 12.30pm)

Fallen Premiership giants Bath - who beat rivals Worcester a fortnight ago to record their first win of the season in the Premiership - face a mountainous challenge as they host four-time European champions Leinster in the fourth group phase round at the Recreation Ground. The two sides met in Dublin on the opening day of the tournament in December when the Irish side cruised to a 45-20 bonus-point win, helped by a brace of tries from Jamison Gibson-Park. Can Bath spring a huge surprise this afternoon?

Superman & Lois (BBC1, 5.30pm)

If you’ve ever wondered whether the children of superheroes have stranger-than-average teenage years, this series gives the answer loud and clear: heck, yes. Poor Jordan is normally a quiet and introspective lad (better known as moody). Not only does he have to cope with the usual issues of acne and body odour, he’s also grappling with his powers, which manifest themselves in fits and starts. Here, his super-hearing brings on debilitating headaches - as well as triggering his heat vision - and he has to skip school and rest at home. While Lana tries to choose five hopefuls for Edge’s leadership scheme, Lois persuades Superman to meet Marcus, hoping to force the latter to reveal his true identity. However, when violence ensues and it’s Jordan and Jonathan who come to his father’s rescue, before we find out the truth behind Marcus.

The Masked Singer (STV, 7pm)

Singers Will Young and Heather Small, and veteran broadcaster Gloria Hunniford were unmasked early doors this year, but which of the eight remaining singers will be ordered to “take it off” tonight? Judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan think they know the identities of the celebrities performing inside the elaborate costumes. But are their occasionally left-field guesses wide of the mark? After the votes are counted, the fifth famous face is unmasked and eliminated. Host Joel Dommett attempts to keep order.

Secrets of the Royal Palaces (C5, 8.30pm)

This episode reveals how France’s Louis XIV had to smuggle artisans into France, pursued by wannabe assassins, as he planned Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors. There’s also an insight into how Lord Snowdon got to know the real Queen and, even after his marriage to Princess Margaret fell apart, he remained one of Elizabeth II’s favourite photographers. The show also hears from insider Colin Tebbutt, who explains why, on the night of Princess Diana’s fatal accident, for the briefest moment, he thought she was alive.

Posh Weekends with Sally Lindsay (C5, 9.30pm)

This week, Sally is in Marbella with hosts Hans, the founder of telecom giant Orange, and Helen, who held top positions in English football, cricket and rugby, before they moved to the Costa del Sol. Their sixbedroom villa has a two-tier cascade swimming pool, a secret cinema and a glorious art collection. During her weekend stay, Sally takes to the seas in a £2 million yacht with her hosts’ friend Barry, before helping Helen and Hans spend E60,000 in one of Marbella’s most exclusive art galleries.

SUNDAY

Carlos Acosta: This Cultural Life (BBC4, 7.30pm)

You don’t have to be a dance lover to appreciate this absorbing profile of the Cuban ballet star. Acosta talks to John Wilson about some of his life’s key moments, including the influence of his father, his early love of breakdancing in the streets of Havana and the devastating global effects of Communism’s collapse. Acosta also recalls how he felt after winning the prestigious Prix de Lausanne ballet competition at the age of 16, and going on to become the Royal Ballet’s first Black principal dancer.

The Good Karma Hospital (STV, 8pm)

The medical drama is back for its fourth series. Although set in southern India, filming took place in Sri Lanka, a little later than originally planned due to lockdown. It begins as a deadly virus sweeps through the area but not the one you might expect. Instead it’s the highly contagious Nipah causing all the trouble, and against her better judgement, Lydia is forced to admit a girl who has it. At least the patient gives new doctor Samir Hasan a chance to show what he’s made of. Amanda Redman and Harki Bhambra star.

Ski Sunday (BBC Two, 8pm)

The Hahnenkamm races are among the

everybody told me I was crazy. When it became a huge hit for Whitney I told those people, ‘Tom Parker would have had half of that if I had not used my business sense’.” Another area which has seen

Parton using her business acumen is Dollywood, a theme park which is Tennessee’s biggest tourist attraction – in non-Covid times, of course.

Now she’s back on our screens thanks to BBC Two, which is making her the latest focus of its Saturday music-themed evening schedule, following the likes of Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney, Sting and Madonna.
