SATURDAY

Six Nations Rugby Union (BBC1, 4pm) Gabby Logan is at Murrayfield to present coverage of the hotly anticipated match between Scotland and England.

Scottish coach Gregor Townsend named five uncapped players in his initial 39-man squad.

But the cauldron of the Six Nations may not be the right time to blood young talent, so Townsend will be hoping fully fit Bath centre Cameron Redpath and mercurial pair Stuart Hogg and Finn Russell can deliver the goods against the Auld Enemy.

The 2021 Six Nations was one to forget for Eddie Jones’s England – they lost all three matches against home nations opposition and finished fifth in the table.

But with Jones finally beginning to introduce an exciting new generation of talent, including Marcus Smith, Freddie Steward, Raffi Quirke, Alex Dombrandt, Sam Simmonds and Jamie Blamire, they went unbeaten during a successful summer and autumn and chalked up notable wins over Australia and South Africa.

Can they reclaim the Calcutta Cup, or will Scotland claim a double victory?

SUNDAY

Chloe (BBC1, 9pm)

Fans of The Crown will know that Erin Doherty is great at stealing scenes. When season three of the hit drama came to Netflix, much of the publicity focused on the fact that Olivia Colman was taking over the role of the Queen from Claire Foy. However, Doherty’s no-nonsense Princess Anne soon became a fan favourite.

Now though, Doherty is taking centre stage with a lead role in the new six-part thriller Chloe – although she’s not playing the title character.

Instead, she stars as Becky, a young woman who lives with her mum in a small flat on the outskirts of Bristol. Her mother suffers from early on-set dementia, and Becky balances being her carer with working as temp.

Erin explains: “Becky has had a bit of an intense start to her life. Basically, she had a traumatic event happen when she was younger

winning sitcom People Just Do Nothing, while Tom Davis and James De Frond gave us Murder in Successville and King Gary. So, expectations are high for this new comedycrime caper, which sees them joining forces to tell a story set in London in the early 1980s. Mustafa and Emer Kenny star as Albert and Natasha, the down-on-their-luck owners of a greasy spoon cafe. Their lives change when Albert’s old mates, would-be gangster Phil Pocket (Chegwin) and washed-up boxer Mick Neville (Davis), meet up with Natasha’s brother Sidney (Stamp), who claims they can steal up to £50,000 from the warehouse where he works. However, these small-time crooks take off with more than £30million in gold bullion.

in as Erin goes cold-calling Surrey mansions in the rain.

THURSDAY

Dragons’ Den (BBC1, 8pm)

Will a former fashion designer and her partner have their dreams flushed away as they present their version of the toilet wipe to Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies and Steven Bartlett? Also in the Den tonight is a stylish entrepreneur offering an alternative to plastic toys and two friends who face a roasting over their mood-enhancing coffee products. Finally, a tech expert pitches a digital tool to help the bereaved manage the affairs of the deceased more easily.

Mary Beard’s Forbidden Art (BBC2, 9pm) Art and its relationship with ideology is the topic covered by the classicist in the second part of her fascinating series. She wants to highlight and discuss works which have challenged the political and social status quo by expressing opinions others would prefer to eradicate, and considers the best way to engage with offences from the past. Among those featured is Otto Dix, a German painter and printmaker who created chillingly realistic depictions of society during the Weimar Republic and the brutality of war, becoming an enemy of the Nazis in the process. Also featured are the paintings of film director and gay activist and the infamous statue of Edward Colston.
