Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable (Dave, 10pm)

More comics and celebrities compete to convince Mel that they are the most Unforgivable person in the room. To do this they will have to dredge up their most outrageous sins, lies, legal transgressions and morally bankrupt behaviour. In each episode, three celebrities regale tales of their most despicable deeds and uncharitable behaviour as they are probed by host Mel Giedroyc and her assistant Lou Sanders. Tonight, Sarah Millican discusses what ingredient should be added to cakes in Amsterdam, Chris McCausland apologises to a prank victim, and Jamali Maddix compares ‘caught short’ tactics with Mel.

WEDNESDAY

Dream Home Makeovers with Sophie Robinson (C5, 7pm)

Semi-retired John and Lesley have lived in their house by the river for 12 years. It has beautiful views, but the living room interior makes them feel old before their time, and the master bedroom is also bland and boring. They’ve tried many times to inject their personality into the decor and be brave with colour, but they always end up playing safe. They need ‘Queen of Colour’ Sophie’s help to give new life to both rooms. But can she get Lesley to stop playing it safe and be brave in the living room? Meanwhile, busy lawyer and mum Nina has a new house with bland interiors, but she has no idea about interior decoration and no time for it. Her sister Nicky wants Sophie to help her find her style and transform her living room and master bedroom.

Inside the Factory (BBC2, 9pm)

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Gregg Wallace certainly does, as he visits a factory that churns out 50,000 litres of dairy ice cream every day. Meanwhile, historian Ruth Goodman hops on board an ice-cream van to find out how soft whip became a favourite on Britain’s streets. And do you ever suffer from brain freeze? Cherry Healey heads to an ice rink in Hull with headache expert Dr Fayyaz Ahmed to test the best methods of preventing and stopping it, before going in search of another dream item – a non-drip ice lolly.

The Bay (STV, 9pm)

Many fans of this crime drama were concerned about its future when its star Morven Christie decided to quit the show, after her character, DC Lisa Armstong, solved the case of the murder of Stephen Marshbrook. However, they needn’t have worried – new lead Marsha Thomason has been brilliant since her debut as DS Jenn Townsend. In the penultimate episode of what has been a gripping series, Shazia’s revelation threatens to destroy the Rahman family. Meanwhile, Adnan exonerates a suspect at enormous personal cost and Jenn’s personal crisis deepens.

Storyville: President (BBC4, 10pm)

When Dictator Robert Mugabe was ousted by his own party in 2017, Zimbabwe’s new leaders promised a democratic Presidential election. Working to defeat the ruling party which has controlled Zimbabwe since independence, is the young and charismatic Nelson Chamisa, who draws comparisons to a young Nelson Mandela. Against a backdrop of economic crisis, food shortages and political violence, the stakes could not be higher – but after decades of corrupt elites using any means necessary to retain power, can a free, fair, and transparent election be truly possible? Camilla Nielsson’s film brings viewers into the heart of an epic struggle for power.
