The Split (BBC1, 9pm) Comedians Giving Lectures (Dave, 10pm)
The premiere of this drama’s third and final season pulled viewers’ heartstrings pretty hard, with Hannah (Nicola Walker) and Nathan’s (Stephen Mangan) hopes that that they would be a happy and amicably divorced couple quickly evaporating. Tensions rise again tonight as the pair struggle to disentangle their lives in the wake of recent bombshells. Meanwhile, Christie (Barry Atsma) flies into London from New York, and Rose (Fiona Button) is still struggling in the wake of James’s death and decides to have a clear out.
Sara Pascoe returns with a third run of the series in which she challenges fellow stand-up comedians to deliver an inspiring lecture on a random topic of her choosing. They are given the title of a real lecture, but not the content, and their oratory skills are judged by experts in the topic. Tonight, Toussaint Douglass delivers a lecture on ‘How To Find The Right Partner’, while Elf Lyon gives an ‘Introduction to Economics’ and Frankie Boyle an ‘Introduction to Power and Politics in Today’s World’.
South of the River (STV, 10.20pm)
The three-part documentary, previously shown on BT Sport and looking at the talented pool of footballers emerging from south London in recent years, continues. Among the players featured are Jadon Sancho (Manchester United), Joe Gomez (Liverpool), Tammy Abraham (Roma) Aaron Wan Bissaka (Manchester Utd), Declan Rice (West Ham), Ademola Lookman (RB Leipzig), Ryan Sessegnon (Tottenham), Michail Antonio (West Ham) and Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace). Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand, who also grew up in the area, provides personal insight.
Mary Berry’s Fantastic Feasts (BBC1, 10.40pm)
Rima, her mother-in-law Diane, and her best friend Noreen, plan to throw a surprise 30th-birthday feast for Rima’s husband Mark. The problem is, the trio are are novice cooks and need inspiration and help to put on the event. Fortunately, Mary is on hand to guide them through tackle a menu consisting of blinis, salmon en croute with a spinach and herb sauce and a chocolate ganache cake. Mary also enlists former Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Janette Manrara and presenter and TV personality Scarlett Moffatt to help create the perfect surprise.
