PICK OF THE WEEK

The Truck of Wonder is hitting the road again, this time heading for the Suffolk home of

Pete and Louise, whose property simply no longer meets their requirements. They both need somewhere they can work which also suits their two children who, thanks to the large age gap between them, have different needs. Designer Alex Dauley assesses valuable data about the house before making some radical decisions which include revamping a previously unused conservatory and a new bedroom for a teenager in need of her own space.

Gazza (BBC2, 9pm)

In 1993, at the age of 27, Paul Gascoigne should have been at the peak of his footballing powers, but as the second episode of this revealing documentary explains, his life and career were spiralling out of control. At that time, he was playing club football for Lazio in Italy, but despite the sunshine and adoration of the fans, he wasn’t happy. Reports of violence in his relationship with his eventual wife Sheryl circled, while England’s failure to reach the 1994 World Cup didn’t help matters. A career-threatening injury followed, but Gazza became the nation’s darling again when he scored a wonder goal against Scotland at Euro 96. However, there was more trouble on the horizon as the media turned to increasingly wild ways in which to gain a scoop about a man who was already clearly struggling to cope with the limelight.

Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr (BBC1, 9pm)

It’s the penultimate week of the competition to find Britain’s most talented amateur interior designer, so expect fraught nerves and tension as the remaining contestants battle it out for a place in the grand final and the chance to win a potentially life-changing contract. The three semi-finalists are tasked with upgrading the open-plan living areas and terraces of luxury holiday lodges in the Cotswolds. Guest judge Abigail Ahern helps fellow designer Michelle Ogundehin decide who deserves to progress and who should be sent home.

Grand Designs: The Streets (C4, 9pm)

Kevin McCloud pays a visit to Vineet and Simmi, who have asked a friend from within the Graven Hill community to help them with their build. Unfortunately, the arrangement doesn’t go well and tension soon causes problems between all involved, particularly when Vineet decides he no longer considers the layout to be fit for purpose. Meanwhile, another couple’s prefab kit home goes up in the blink of an eye - but whether its design meets the approval of their neighbours is another matter altogether.

Inside No 9 (BBC2, 10pm)

Well, here’s a wee treat for us all. Few - if any - series have proved to be as inventive, scary, disturbing and amusing as this anthology

show written by and, usually, starring Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith. Each 30-minute episode is perfectly crafted with more twist and turns than you can shake a stick at, and although few details have been released about the new seventh series, we’re expecting more of the same. There are two very familiar faces making guest appearances in the opening episode. One of them is Diane Morgan of Mandy fame, while the other is Pemberton and Shearsmith’s old friend and League of Gentlemen colleague Mark Gatiss. The plot focuses on three men at a university reunion party aboard a boat. Unfortunately, choppy waters are ahead...

its residents the chance to be themselves, but it wouldn’t be everyone’s idea of a utopia, as Ben learns that lives have been lost to heat exposure, drug overdoses - and a murder.

Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars (BBC1, 9pm)

The emphasis this week is on fast food, as Gordon finds out if the entrepreneurs can deal with the lunchtime rush at a high-end diner in the Cotswolds - and just to add to the pressure, when he gets a pick peckish himself, he decides to order a burger from the drive-through. Then, the teams are asked to create an online delivery service, but what they don’t know is that they won’t just be feeding hungry officer workers. Gordon has invited the founder of Deliveroo, and the heads of High Street fast-food chains Wahaca and Wagamama to deliver their verdicts.

Chivalry (C4, 10pm)

Sarah Solemani and Steve Coogan are tackling the thorny issue of sexual politics and Hollywood in the post #MeToo era in this new comedy drama, which they co-wrote and star in. Solemani plays Bobby, an indie filmmaker who scored a critical hit with her low-budget debut movie. A studio promises to fund her follow up, a feminist Biblical biopic, on the condition that she steps in to help save a controversial thriller first. The film in question is being produced by Cameron (Coogan) a “ladies’ man” who has enjoyed huge success in the past but fears that this could be the project that ruins his career unless Bobby can ‘detoxify’ it. Can the unlikely duo forge a partnership, and how will they deal with their growing attraction towards each other? We’re about to find out as Chivalry starts with a double bill.
