Devon and Cornwall: Fishing Lives (C4, 7.15pm)

For centuries, the residents of Devon and Cornwall have been working the sea. So, this special programme is meeting some of the people who still make their living from fishing. It includes a trip to the Isles of Scilly, where Adam Morton and his family run a fish and chip shop. What makes it different from other chippies is that Adam catches the fish himself and also grows his own potatoes. In Cornwall, Phil Trebilcock is taking to the water in search of lobster and crab, while gearing up for Newquay’s annual fish festival. Meanwhile, in the fishing grounds off Brixham, maverick skipper Tristan Northway is making good use of social media to livestream his latest catches to his customers.

Celebrity Mastermind (BBC1, 7.20pm)

One of the more intriguing aspects of this series is finding out what topics celebrities are really interested in via their specialist subjects. This week Clive Myrie is inviting Charlie Higson, Adele Roberts, Ed Gamble and Paul Cooper to show us what they know about classic Western films, the planets of the solar system, the sitcom 30 Rock, and the 1966 World Cup, where West Germany were robbed. However, no matter how many hours they’ve devoted to their passion, and how much revision they’ve done, there is a tendency for minds to go blank in that famous black chair.

Britain’s Got Talent (STV, 8pm)

There has been some carping on social media about how many of the acts this year are genuine unknowns – Golden Buzzer recipient Loren Allred sang on the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman, although a BGT spokesperson pointed out that doesn’t make her a household name – but otherwise the latest run has reminded us why we missed this talent show when it wasn’t on our screens last year. Tonight, Ant and Dec introduce more acts out to impress judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, as well as the more cynical viewers.

A Lake District Farm Shop (C4, 8.15pm)

As Tebay Services prepares to celebrate its 50th birthday, founder John Dunning reminisces on building the services and opening a farm shop in 2004. With that in mind, John’s daughter Sarah, the current chair of the company, challenges new development chef Jim to create a contemporary version of a popular 1970s dish. Meanwhile, on Tebay’s High Chapel Farm, a tree-planting scheme is underway, and farm shop buyers Alex and Jane, along with butcher Dave work with the Woodland Trust to bring more wildlife into the area.

SUNDAY

TK Maxx: How Do They Do It? (C5, 7pm)

How does TK Maxx keep its products so cheap and apply all manner of psychological tricks to

make us buy more? Featuring a cast of buyers, store managers, consumer writers, super-fans and the inimitable Grace Dent and Harry Wallop, this documentary looks at how retailer has bucked the high-street trend with sales hitting £3billion. The programme answers those burning questions that every TK Maxx shopper has asked themselves when snooping for a bargain: Is that bargain too good to be true? And where do those strange brand names really come from?

Grace (STV, 8pm)

For viewers, it only happened last week, but this latest edition of the detective drama picks up months after Grace’s (John Simm) last investigation and the team are still dealing with the fallout. Hopefully they can rally themselves though as they investigate the murder of Katya Bishop, a socialite who was heavily involved in local charities. It appears that she and her entrepreneur husband Kit led a charmed life, but as Grace digs deeper, he realises all was not what it seemed. He becomes convinced Kit is the killer but can he prove it?

Gentleman Jack (BBC1, 9pm)

Anne Lister (Suranne Jones) pays a visit to Lawton Hall, but it looks like it’s also going to turn into a trip down memory lane – whether she wants it to or not. Mariana (Lydia Leonard) is keen to rekindle their tempestuous

relationship, while Anne wants to make it clear that it’s over, but in the process, they end up raking over old heartbreaks and wrestling with their complicated, 20-year history. However, the biggest shock may come when Mariana opens up about her marriage to Charles Lawton (Rupert Vansittart). Meanwhile, Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle) is back at Shibden with her in-laws, but she’s about to get a surprise of her own when a visitor arrives, courtesy of her meddling cousins.

Prisoner C33 (BBC4, 9pm)

BBC4’s Sunday Night Performances strand continues with a new one-man play from Stuart Patterson. Directed by Trevor Nunn, it stars
