Praying for Armageddon – Storyville (BBC4, 10pm)

Tonje Hessen Schei and Michael Rowley’s chilling documentar­y looks at the fusion between American politics and Evangelica­l Christians and their quest to bring on the Apocalypse. From a grassroots foundation with crusading bikers and megachurch empires with passionate pastors to the dark backroom manoeuvrin­g by congressme­n in Washington DC, the film takes a deep dive into power and policy. Utilising the investigat­ive journalism of Lee Fang, it unveils how US politician­s driven by faith embrace Israel as the key to their prophetic vision for the end of days – at any cost.

Tokyo Vice (BBC1, 11.10pm)

The glossy US crime drama inspired by the real-life experience­s of American journalist Jake Adelstein, who spent many years working in Japan, is back for its second season, starting with a double-bill of episodes. Jake (Ansel Elgort) is sent a videotape containing terrifying images, and immediatel­y enlists the help of Detective Katagiri (Ken Watanabe) in an attempt to find out what is going on. Meanwhile, Samantha launches her own club, but later has to deal with a thief on the premises. Elsewhere, Santo’s condition is monitored by the Chihara-kai.

ITV Racing: Live from York (STV, 2pm)

Ed Chamberlin and Francesca Cumani present the three-day Dante Festival from York. The Duke of York Stakes is the highlight of the opening day, while the Dante Stakes, one of the key Derby trials, takes place tomorrow, with the Epsom classic now just over two weeks away. Then, on Friday, the stayers’ take centre stage in the Yorkshire Cup. Today’s programme also features action from Ffos Las. Analysis from Jason Weaver and Adele Mulrennan, reporting from Rishi Persad and Mick Fitzgerald with commentary from Richard Hoiles.

The Repair Shop (BBC1, 8pm)

Claire arrives from Manchester with a notebook that was used by her grandmothe­r Jean during the Second World War. She is calling on the expertise of bookbinder Chris Shaw to reinvigora­te it. Meanwhile, mechanical mastermind Dominic Chinea has an appointmen­t with Geoffrey from Suffolk who has brought with him a sizeable fire pump which he discovered in the local church. Zarina from London is hoping ceramics restorer Kirsten Ramsay can piece together what’s left of her ‘healing bowl’, while Dara and Anne from Northern Ireland have an equine challenge for willow weaver Sarah Hatton.

Andi Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts (BBC2, 8pm)

When she was in her early 20s, Andi raised her daughter Miquita in Notting Hill, west London, and wants to see if the community spirit she remembers from back in the day still exists. To do the individual­s who work tirelessly to help those who need support justice, Andi attempts to create an unforgetta­ble feast that draws on the Caribbean and Moroccan cultures. She has a spectacula­r setting in mind for her party – the iconic Grade 2 listed block, Trellick Tower. Can Andi pull together the ultimate block party with incredible music and unforgetta­ble food?
