Anniversar­y Games The Olympic Stadium Friday and Saturday

Chris O’Hare and Jake Wightman (Emsley Carr Mile) While O’Hare will fine tune his preparatio­ns for the 1500m in Rio, Wightman will hope to impress after failing to make the team.

Andrew Butchart (5000m) Fresh from his success at the trials, Butchart will test himself against Mo Farah prior to meeting in Rio.

Lynsey Sharp (800m) One of only two British women selected to run over 800m in Rio, Sharp has been in good form throughout 2016.

Laura Muir, Laura Weightman and Steph Twell (1500m) Muir, one of the Sunday Herald’s Six to Follow, is on a high after defending her British title in Birmingham, booking her Rio place in the process. She faces competitio­n in London from Weightman, another who will run over 1500m in Rio, and Twell, selected at 5000m and a recent European bronze medal winner.

Lennie Waite (3000m steeplecha­se) American-based Waite is another looking to step up her preparatio­ns for Rio.

Eilidh Doyle (400m hurdles) In great form after achieving a personal best and winning in Monaco on Friday, she will be expected to do well at the Olympic Stadium.

Other leading athletes scheduled to appear: Usain Bolt, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Mo Farah, Renaud Lavillenie, Dafne Schippers, Christian Taylor and Kendra Harrison.
