Handwriting still matters today

- Mary Scott Cambuslang

I WAS very upset by your letter on handwriting (Don’t fret about your kids’ terrible handwriting, it’s all part of modern life, say teachers, News, January 22).

I went to school in the 1940s and 1950s and learned to write “the hard way”.

I taught for nearly 40 years and saw many styles of handwriting come and go.

However, it is clear that although it may not be as important today, it is necessary that writing is at least legible.
