INVERLEITH’S winning formula continued with victories over Dunfermline Carnegie and Dundee Wanderers keeping them at the top of the indoor First Division.

The Wanderers encounter was a ding-dong affair, with the champions only 2-1 ahead at half time thanks to goals from Patrick Christie and Stephen Dick, with 16-year-old Cameron Bell replying for the Taysiders. But Inverleith stretched their lead to 4-2 with further strikes by Christie and Dick but Wanderers hung in and Fergus Sandison and Bell brought the game level. The Dundonians failed to take advantage of the Inverleith keeper’s visit to the sin-bin and were punished when Ewen Mackie found the net for a 5-4 victory.

Earlier Inverleith were 6-3 winners over newcomers Dunfermline. Dick and David Ogden both scored twice while Craig Sinclair and Alex Wilson got one each for the Edinburgh side.

Grove Menzieshill recovered their form, seeing off Clydesdale 5-0, Cameron Golden getting a double. This was followed by an 11-2 thumping of bottom side Kelburne, the highlight being a Golden hat-trick.

Western Wildcats made strides up the table after a 12-1 rout of Kelburne and then a 6-2 win over Clydesdale, while Grange also had an unbeaten day, overcoming Wanderers 3-1 before being held 5-5 by Dunfermline.
