The Irishman

NETFLIX scored a major success by financing Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, which stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel and Joe Pesci and is based on a confession by mob hitman Frank Sheeran that he was involved in the murder of Teamsters’ president Jimmy Hoffa. Reports say the film, which has been in gestation for almost a decade, will be on Netflix shortly after a brief cinema run. Considerable sums are being spent on digitally de-ageing the powerhouse, veteran cast to make their more youthful selves convincing.
