Scots make the most of the spring sunshine
Spring sunshine saw people flock to both Portobello Beach, left, for walks and picnics and the Meadows in Edinburgh, above, yesterday. A combination of the lifting of some coronavirus lockdown restrictions and warm weather encouraged people all over Scotland to visit parks, beaches and outdoor spaces. Since Friday, six people from six households can meet outdoors. However, people must continue to “Stay Local” until April 26 when it is hoped the whole of Scotland, including all island communities, will then be in Level 3 – allowing more freedom for pent-up Scots who will also be able to visit pubs, cafes and restaurants. Other outlets such as gyms will also reopen.
