THIS adorable puppy will join mercy crews on search and rescue missions – after becoming the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service last recruit.

Two-month-old Malinois Belgian Shepherd, Corrie, has begun training to track the scent of humans by using his toys. Handler and crew commander Gary Carroll said the cute pooch is already performing well in training, which will continue for the next two years.

Corrie will join the service’s current urban search and rescue dog Mac to help scour landscapes for survivors.

Mr Carroll said: “It’s an extremely exciting time and training began as soon as I got him.

“I’m always looking for a dog with a high play drive as it builds a strong desire from the dog to be rewarded.”
