COVE Rangers remain five points clear in cinch League One after fighting back to earn a 2-2 draw at 10-man Alloa.

Goals inside the first 20 minutes from Andy Graham and Steven Boyd had Alloa firmly in control. But the home side had Jon Robertson dismissed just after the hour when he was shown a red card after a poor challenge on Iain Vigurs.

Cove pulled a goal back with eight minutes left on the clock through Ola Adeyemo and Rory McAllister levelled it up with three minutes left.

Second-place Airdrie were unable to profit from Cove’s draw as they were held 1-1 at home by Clyde. Lewis Jamieson netted late in the first half to put the visitors ahead but Airdrie drew level through Gabriel McGill with 16 minutes to go.

Peterhead held off a Dumbarton fightback to win 4-3 .Hamish Ritchie and Russell McLean scored inside eight minutes as things got worse for Dumbarton when Paul Paton was shown a second yellow card after 37 minutes and Ritchie grabbed his second three minutes before the break.

Ross MacLean got a goal back for Dumbarton just after the hour and Eoghan Stokes claimed the away side’s second before Maclean was shown a second yellow card with six minutes remaining.

Grant Savoury put the home side two in front after 87 minutes before Carlo Pignatiell­o made for a nervy finish as his stoppageti­me strike made it 4-3.

Falkirk beat East Fife 3-1 with goals from Craig McGuffie, Paul Watson and Leigh Griffiths, with Ryan Wallace netting for the visitors.

Aidan Quinn scored the only goal as his strike on the stroke of half-time ensured a 1-0 win for Montrose at Queen’s Park.

Joe Cardle netted his 15th goal of the season as Kelty Hearts moved 12 points clear at the top of Scottish League Two with a 3-1 victory over Annan Athletic. Owen Moxon’s own goal set them on their way before Jamie Barjonas found the bottom corner from 20 yards. Cardle added a third with 18 minutes remaining. Annan pulled a goal back in the 78th minute through Robert McCartney.

Kelty extended their lead after taking advantage of Forfar’s 2-0 loss at Stenhousem­uir.

Robert Thomson netted in the 26th minute and Adam Corbett scored just after half-time for the hosts, who moved three points off the play-offs.

Elgin boosted their survival hopes courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Stirling Albion, while Stranraer missed the chance to move five points off the top four following a goalless draw with second-bottom Albion Rovers.
