Gio hopes his team and fans put on show in Seville

RANGERS manager Giovanni van Bronckhors­t is hoping his side can make it a memorable night in Seville on Wednesday, as they prepare to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final.

The club’s supporters are on their way to Spain in their droves, by any means necessary, and the Ibrox manager is hoping they and the team can put on a show.

“It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be a fantastic occasion to follow the team. I think there will be lots of out supporters in Seville.

“We have to enjoy the occasion and make sure we represent the club well. Hopefully we’ll have the confidence to win the cup and make it a really memorable night in Seville.”

Rangers prepared for the trip by resting most of their first- team picks, though still left Tynecastle with a 3- 1 victory. It was the younger players who stole the show, with 18- year- old Alex Lowry getting on the scoresheet and being involved in the other t wo goals. One of those involved linking with 19- yearold striker Cole McKinnon, who bagged a debut goal.

“I’m really impressed with the win because of the way we played,” added Van Bronckhors­t.

“You can see all the changes we made, especially in the second half with so many youngsters on the pitch.

“When you pull on that Rangers shirt we are expected to win the game. That’s what I demanded as well today.

“We know the qualities of Alex in the one v ones, he’s quite dangerous. Cole had a great year with the B team. He started the attack and he finished it, I’m really pleased with him.

“Scoring on your debut, I don’t think many players can say that.”
