Two teens die in crash in village

Two male teenagers have been killed and three other people injured in a car crash in Nottingham­shire.

A 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in the village of Gonalston on Thursday evening.

Two other people were taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with potentiall­y life-threatenin­g injuries, while a fifth person suffered injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatenin­g.

Case investigat­or Louise Melbourne, of Nottingham­shire Police’s Serious Collision Investigat­ion Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of everyone involved.

“Our specialist trained officers are working to offer families support at this incredibly sad time.”
