DUNFERMLIN­E overcame Kelty Hearts 2- 1 to extend their lead at the top of cinch League One.

Nikolay Todorov put the Pars ahead after 22 minutes, but Darren Lyon levelled for the visitors.

Craig Wighton struck the winner 10 minutes into the second half as Dunfermlin­e bounced back from defeat at Montrose last week, their first loss of the league campaign.

Second-placed FC Edinburgh lost ground with a 1- 1 draw at Peterhead and are now three points adrift of Dunfermlin­e. Jack Brown put bottom-placed Peterhead in front after 54 minutes. The hosts had Julien Carre sent off for a second bookable offence before Daniel Handling grabbed an equaliser.

Falkirk cut the gap on Edinburgh to a point with a 3-1 win at Queen of the South. Rumarn Burrell with t wo and Kai Kennedy put Falkirk in control, with Connor Murray pulling one back for the hosts.

Alloa left it late to beat luckless Clyde 2- 1, with the visitors suffering a 10th straight league defeat after putting manager Danny Lennon on “paid absence” last week.

Luke Donnelly’s early opener was cancelled out by Kurtis Roberts’ first Clyde goal after 33 minutes. Clyde lost Paul Kennedy to a second bookable offence after 89 minutes and Donnelly then struck his second deep into stoppage time.

Lewis Jamieson’s hat- trick helped Airdrie thrash Montrose 4- 0.

Airdrie had not won for six games, but Jamieson put them in command with goals after 21 and 38 minutes. Craig Watson added a third on the stroke of half time and Jamieson, on loan from St Mirren, completed his treble after 51 minutes.

In League Two, Dale Carrick’s double gave Stirling Albion a 2- 1 home win against Bonnyrigg to keep his side top of the table ahead of Dumbarton on goal difference.

Carrick gave Stirling the lead and although Kevin Smith levelled for Bonnyrigg before half time, the Albion striker converted a secondhalf penalty after Neil Martyniuk’s challenge on Kai Fotheringh­am.

Bonnyrigg striker Callum Connelly was sent off for a second yellow card in the closing stages.

Dumbarton were 1-0 winners at Annan. Gregg Wylde headed the only goal to give Dumbarton their first league win in five matches, while Annan dropped into bottom spot.

East Fife remain six points behind the top two in third after a 2-1 home win against 10-man Elgin.

Elgin defender Lewis Nicolson was shown a straight red card in the seventh minute for a high challenge on Joao Balde before Scott Mercer headed the Fifers in front. The visitors hit back through Kane Hester early in the second half, but Alan Trouten converted the winner from the penalty spot after Jake Dolzanski’s foul on Scott Shepherd.

Albion climbed off the foot of the table despite being pegged back late on in a 2-2 home draw against Stenhousem­uir.

Jamie Leslie’s first- half header for Albion was cancelled out by William Sewell and after Callum Wilson regained the lead for the home side, Ross Forbes converted a late penalty following Ewan Wilson’s deliberate handball.

James Hilton’s first- half goal was enough to earn Stranraer a 1- 0 home win against Forfar.
