WEST HAM UNITED have renewed their interest in the Hamilton Academical full-back Stephen Hendrie.

The Lanarkshire club’s vicechairman, Ronnie Macdonald, was deeply critical of the Barclays Premier League club when revealing earlier this month that they had failed to appear at an agreed meeting on New Year’s Day to rubberstamp a £2million transfer.

Hendrie had already agreed personal terms and was ready to make the career-changing move south.

Macdonald branded West Ham “shambolic” and insisted the deal was off, but the East London club remain keen on nailing down an agreement and putting him through a medical.

Hendrie has played more than 100 times for Hamilton and turned out for Scotland both at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
