Amoruso pessimistic

The Herald - Sport - - LEAGUE CUP SEMI-FINALS -

LORENZO AMORUSO, the former Rangers captain, admits he’s written off his old club’s chances in the Old Firm showdown, but is still hoping for a shock. “I’m pessimistic for Sunday, because right now Rangers are not a great team. But always in a derby anything can happen. I hope Rangers can surprise Celtic. In these games you get to see who is worthy of wearing the shirt and who will stand up.”

Amoruso - who had a six-year spell at Ibrox from 1997 - admits he has nothing but good memories of the encounter. “First of all, Rangers are a faith, not a football team,” he added. “Rangers are in a bad way just now, but I just hope they can be restored to the top.”
