Ex-Son Agnew joins Mur­ray at St Mir­ren

MIDFIELDER Scott Agnew has fol­lowed man­ager Ian Mur­ray to St Mir­ren from Dum­bar­ton af­ter sign­ing a one-year deal.

For­mer Rangers trainee Agnew fea­tured in all of Dum­bar­ton’s 40 matches un­der Mur­ray last sea­son and made a to­tal of 146 ap­pear­ances for the club, scor­ing 35 goals.

Agnew, who has also played for Hamil­ton, Al­loa, Ayr United and Stran­raer, is thrilled to have been given the chance to link up with Mur­ray.

He said: “I am de­lighted to have signed for St Mir­ren. I had a few of­fers from other Cham­pi­onship clubs, both full-time and part-time.

“But the pos­si­bil­ity of com­ing to St Mir­ren with the fa­cil­i­ties the club have and to fol­low my old gaffer to Pais­ley was one I couldn’t refuse.”

Mur­ray is adamant Agnew has the qual­ity to help St Mir­ren try to bounce straight back to the Premier­ship.
