Celtic in lunchtime sea­sonal opener

HALF of the games on the open­ing week­end of the Lad­brokes Premier­ship sea­son will be screened live.

League cham­pi­ons Celtic will kick off the new cam­paign and their ti­tle de­fence at home to Ross County at 12.30pm on Au­gust 1 with the game shown on Sky Sports.

Hearts will make their re­turn to the top flight 24 hours later when they host St John­stone in a game shown by BT Sport and Sky will show Dundee United’s meet­ing with Aberdeen at Tan­nadice at 3.30pm.

Mother­well’s trip to In­ver­ness will also be moved to the Sun­day if the Wil­liam Hill Scot­tish Cup hold­ers over­come Ro­ma­nian side As­tra in the sec­ond qual­i­fy­ing round of the Europa League.

The SPFL’s lower-di­vi­sion clubs play in the first round of the League Cup that week­end.
