Marvellous marble

A MARBLE work by contemporary Scottish sculptor Simon Burns-Cox is among the items on display at the annual Royal Scottish Academy exhibition in Edinburgh.

The Love and War sculpture, valued at £950, is one of more than 300 small and medium-sized works on display from now until the end of August, showcasing the best of contemporary Scottish and international artists. The artworks on show at the RSA Open on The Mound are chosen for their quality by a panel of RSA Academicians and are also on sale to the public.

For the first time this year, the RSA Open will take place during the Edinburgh Festival. It is hoped that the surge in international visitors will boost footfall and sales at the exhibition which runs until August 30. It is open from 10am-5pm. Picture: Gordon Terris
