We have had Craig Whyte, pictured, and the meltdown at Rangers. Now get ready for Craig Whyte the movie. The collapse and comeback at Ibrox has been fuelled by heroes and villains during the darkest days of the club’s history. Now Whyte, who owned Rangers as they were placed in administra­tion last year, is trying to sell the film, TV and book rights to his story and the club’s downfall.

The Herald picked up a clutch of accolades for journalist­ic excellence at the Scottish Press Awards last night. Michael Tierney added to his host of previous awards when he was named Magazine Writer of the Year. Steven Camley was named Cartoonist of the Year for the second time in a row. Chief sportswrit­er Hugh Macdonald and Business Editor Ian Mcconnell were named runners-up in the Sports Feature Writer and Financial/business Journalist of the Year categories respective­ly.
